Foundation Stage & School

Alexander First School and Foundation Stage is a community school, which receives Local Authority funding. It is situated on the west side of Windsor looking out on to rural surroundings. The school is classified as small with approximately one hundred and twenty pupils at present.

All staff are dedicated to ensuring pupils make progress in their learning whatever their starting point and have high expectations of them. We have a nurturing approach to learning across the school, so that all children feel valued and are supported to develop their self-esteem and confidence.

  • Children normally start their education in our Foundation Stage.
  • Children start FS1 (Nursery) at the beginning of the term following their third birthday.
  • Children start FS2 (Reception) in the September of the year they will be 5 years old.

Overall, the school has the capacity to accommodate 120 pupils.

The authority tries to ensure that we admit 24 - 30 children into our first class each year.
